Friends List Issue *Updated again, it’s in Review (finally)*

July 14, 2010 at 12:20 pm 65 comments

You may find that your friends list will fail to load. Early indications show a change in some of the parameters required to load the list.

I’ll have a fix submitted to Apple by tonight!

Update:
I’ve just fixed the issue, it was just a one liner fix fortunately!  However, the fix still needs to go through Apple so hopefully it won’t take too long to be approved after I submit it tonight.

Second Update:
Still in app update limbo!

Third Update: Progress!!

Finally it’s “In Review”!!

    Thanks for the update.

Will itrophies but updated in the future to display the new yellow PSN+ member icons?

Also, with the new iOS4 will there be any future enhancements added to the app? Retina Display upgrades? Multitasking?

    Keep up the great support!

  • 2. itrophies  |  July 14, 2010 at 2:09 pm

    Hi,

With regards to iPhone 4, yes, I tweeted the other day to get some screenshots of iTrophies on the iPhone 4 so I could see what needed higher res images. (I don’t have an iPhone 4). I know what to update with higher resolution images now.

iOS4 and multitasking; I will support this so iTrophies doesn’t quit when you try to suspend it, but there’s nothing in the Apple Multitasking features that iTrophies can actually make use of.

I’ve yet to look in to trying to show the PSN+ but I will have a look when I get some time soon.

    Thank you for the fix

  • 4. Beanie  |  July 15, 2010 at 10:40 pm

I just got the app today and I still can’t get my friends to show

    • 5. Edgar  |  July 26, 2010 at 3:32 pm

The update is on review process. It says that on the top. More than anything iTrophies is waiting for Apple to approve the App.

    • 6. Edgar  |  July 26, 2010 at 3:42 pm

Read the top of the page and you’ll know why. Seriously, can’t you read?

  • 7. chaos  |  July 15, 2010 at 10:49 pm

Amazing work! Shows real interest in your customers. Great!

  • 8. Alan  |  July 15, 2010 at 10:54 pm

I am glad there will be an update for OS4 and specially the new retina display.
Can’t wait to see the app in higher res.

  • 9. Trevor  |  July 16, 2010 at 9:49 am

Is there any way to show what map is being played in mw2, like it does on the ps3 friends list ?

  • 10. Bhodisava  |  July 16, 2010 at 5:17 pm

  • 11. Dave  |  July 17, 2010 at 12:27 am

Still doesnt work for me, that said not seen update in store yet

    • 12. itrophies  |  July 17, 2010 at 1:04 am

The patch is still in review at Apple.

  • 13. Clark  |  July 17, 2010 at 4:24 pm

Still no update…any word from Apple?

    • 14. itrophies  |  July 17, 2010 at 4:30 pm

Nope no word, there are several states when you upload an app to be reviewed. The fix is currently still in “Waiting for review” status, hopefully it’ll be moved to “In Review” asap!

(As one user said to me, maybe Apple are very busy sorting out the iPhone4 :P )

  • 15. Alex  |  July 18, 2010 at 5:28 pm

    Hurry up

    • 16. itrophies  |  July 18, 2010 at 10:23 pm

I’ve done my best by getting an update submitted mate, I’m at the mercy of Apple’s approval process now, sorry I can’t do more.

      • 17. Dustin  |  July 20, 2010 at 1:43 am

It should be approved before the 22nd. Assuming it passes.

    • 18. Mitch  |  July 19, 2010 at 3:01 am

Calm the fuck down dude… it’s out of his hands… you have no right to complain about something you have nothing to do with… you want it fixed, you make your own app, until then, let him do his thing… and let apple do their thing… otherwise go buy a different phone and cut bitching… patience is a virtue…

Viru thanks for the update man, i’m just happy to see a developer who is very willing to keep supporting an app for as long as you have… Thanks!

  • 19. Paul  |  July 19, 2010 at 6:38 am

Good to know you’ve already sent in the update. Hopefully Apple won’t sit on it for too long.

  • 20. Chris H  |  July 19, 2010 at 12:47 pm

Really appreciate that mate! This is the best app I own :)

  • 21. Jason  |  July 19, 2010 at 3:08 pm

  • 22. itrophies  |  July 19, 2010 at 3:34 pm

Thanks for the support guys. I’ve just had a look at the status and it’s still at “Waiting For Review” :(

  • 23. Dan  |  July 19, 2010 at 6:16 pm

Really great app. At least you keep us up to date. Can’t live without this app!

  • 24. Mozza  |  July 20, 2010 at 7:02 am

Tried all trophy apps… And this is the benchmark in my eyes.
    Excellent work mate.

  • 25. Dan  |  July 20, 2010 at 7:21 pm

Tell apple that this update also fixes the antenna problem…i’m sure it’ll be reviewed much faster.

    • 26. itrophies  |  July 20, 2010 at 7:27 pm

  • 30. Jonzz  |  July 21, 2010 at 10:24 am

Man, Apple are a pain in the arse when it comes to approving updates!

Thanks for keeping us updated as to the status of the update.

Are you considering updating the app to include more features? They aren’t necessary, I was just interested :)

    • 31. itrophies  |  July 21, 2010 at 11:11 am

There’ll be a couple of additions in the future yes.

      • 32. Jonzz  |  July 22, 2010 at 5:28 pm

  • 39. Guido  |  July 22, 2010 at 1:02 am

Great to know an update is on it’s way! Thanks! Looking forward to the couple of new features you’ve hinted at too! :-)

  • 40. OneZeoN  |  July 22, 2010 at 1:31 pm

    WTF Apple!!

Disgrace they take this long to approve any app!

Also are you looking into adding messaging to ps3 or not even attempting that????

I have loads of mates who refuse to get this app until it in…then will buy straight way!

    Cheers

    • 41. Alan  |  July 24, 2010 at 12:00 am

He can’t attempt something impossible, don’t blame him for not attempting, write an email to Sony.
It’s like telling someone to walk on water, simply not possible.

  • 42. Jason  |  July 22, 2010 at 6:36 pm

Apple really need to review the update process like in this case. Surly an update to a broken app should take priority over newly submitted apps. It just seems to me that apple treat developers badly, and it must be very frustrating for you mate.

Anyway mate, thanks again for keeping us updated.

    “Note To Apple”
Treat your developers with a bit more respect, they earn you money.

    • 43. Dustin  |  July 24, 2010 at 9:48 am

Well with the release of both iOS4 and iPhone4 there are a ton of updates Apple is looking over. Another issue is that Sony is a bit overzealous with their technologies.

  • 44. Daruna  |  July 23, 2010 at 1:46 pm

Man is posible that we have and app in which we can access remotly with the PS3 like the PSP do

    • 45. Jonzz  |  July 23, 2010 at 7:26 pm

      What?

    • 46. Jo7n  |  July 24, 2010 at 4:51 pm

You mean like the RemotePlay thing?

      • 47. Daruna  |  July 25, 2010 at 4:29 am

        Yes like the Remote Play.

        • 48. Jo7n  |  July 26, 2010 at 11:50 am

I read once that there is a Sony Erricson phone that can use Remote Play.

  • 49. Anonymous  |  July 23, 2010 at 9:27 pm

  • 50. Gav  |  July 24, 2010 at 11:11 am

None of my app’s are working now apple take the piss this should be sorted by now

  • 51. buff  |  July 24, 2010 at 11:58 pm

    Excellent app mate,best one by a mile.Just keeps getting better.thanks.Patience people…..

  • 52. AndyTheAnimal  |  July 25, 2010 at 8:49 pm

One of my other apps has gone through two updates this week, therefore Apple cannot be doing updates on a first come first served basis…

    • 53. itrophies  |  July 25, 2010 at 9:01 pm

What was the app? I’d like to email the developers of that app to try and understand what Apple are doing. I’ve sent a couple of emails to Apple asking what the hold up is but no reply and the app status on the site is still “Waiting for review”.

  • 54. GreyTigerFox  |  July 26, 2010 at 4:43 am

Thank you so much for your hard work! Any word on whether itrophies will support ios4 multitasking? :)

  • 55. AndyTheAnimal  |  July 26, 2010 at 7:42 am

It was Sickipedia. They had a OS4 update and this update caused problems for OS3 users and so they issued another update both of which I believe were pushed out to users last week.

  • 56. OneZeoN  |  July 26, 2010 at 10:51 am

    This is getting silly!
Not your fault I know but I’ve had several app updates that where submitted AFTER yours!

    Sickipedia as mentioned and WunderRadio!

Is it STILL being reviewed now?

    • 57. itrophies  |  July 26, 2010 at 11:08 am

It still simply says “Waiting for Review” on the iTunesConnect website (where developers upload applications for review).

I’m wondering if I should press the reject button and resubmit it, but apparently if I do that and resubmit I’ll join the back of the approval queue again, so I guess I’ll give it a couple more days to see if I hear anything back.

Not looking good though is it! :(

      • 58. OneZeoN  |  July 26, 2010 at 12:40 pm

Yeah it’s tough to say what’s best to do.
Apple need to let you know asap as it’s not on.

        Good luck anywhoooo :)

  • 59. Edgar  |  July 26, 2010 at 3:39 pm

Thanks for the update man. I’m pretty sure you must be really frustrated with Apple by now, but I appreciate you let us know about the update.

  • 60. AndyTheAnimal  |  July 26, 2010 at 7:13 pm

“In Review”. Hopefully that will mean approval within a few hours?

  • 61. Rich  |  July 26, 2010 at 8:30 pm

I think messaging would be a possibility for this app if Sony allowed you to do it on the Official Playstation website. The app could then include it. I think that’s how some of the Xbox apps do it.

  • 62. Satoro_san  |  July 26, 2010 at 8:35 pm

Dude, your app is great. I see by the posts that it’s still in review. Cest la vie!!! Thank you for the dedication on the matter and all the best in making it better and better.

  • 63. Dracknar  |  July 26, 2010 at 9:56 pm

Hey mate, just wanted to thank you for the awesome work you’ve done on this app.
I Understand how frustrating the waiting process would be, given you are undoubtedly fielding a lot of emails and questions regarding it.
    Keep up the good work!

  • 64. AndyTheAnimal  |  July 26, 2010 at 10:07 pm

Do you have a Facebook link for us non-Twitterers please? Great way to chat with other app users and get news updates.
    Ta
