What is iTrophies?

iTrophies is an application for the iPhone and iPod Touch. It lets you sign into the Playstation Network with your account details and will show you your profile data as well as your Trophy data. You can see for the games you’ve played which trophies you’ve earned and which you still need to collect.

iTrophies can help you find videos for trophies you haven’t obtained yet by searching YouTube. You can watch the YouTube videos from within iTrophies which means you don’t exit iTrophies when the YouTube player starts.

How is this different to other guides?

First and foremost to my knowledge this is the first iPhone / iPod Touch application which can present you with your actual Playstaton Trophy data, it’s always in sync with your Playstation Account. (Note: you must choose the Sync with Server option on your Playstation 3 console to sync any new trophies earned with the PSN).

Is this an official Playstation application?

Nope. This application was created for several reasons which include; wanting to learn iPhone development, filling a gap, and of course love for the Playstation console!

Is it safe to sign in with my Playstation Account details?

Yes. There is an option on the login screen of the application which can remember your login details if you turn it ON. Other than that at no other time is any data collected or recorded. If you turned ‘Remember Login’ ON you can clear the details by signing in with the option turned off.

Can I help with future updates?

Maybe. If you have something to offer then by all means drop me an email at itrophiesatgooglemail.com

If you have any questions which haven’t been answered please do leave the question in the comments below and I will add the question and answer to the FAQ (if you leave an email address I will also reply via email).

I can sign in but my profile and trophy data is blank?

It is likely the server request timed out and sent no data back. This may occur when the Playstation Network servers are under increased load, usually during peak times. If this occurs simply exit and reenter the application.

I cannot sign in? I get a “Login Failed. Incorrect details” message.

Please check that you’re signing in with the Email Address you use to sign in and not your Gamer ID.

Where has the “Remember Details” option gone?

Version 2.0 of PS3 iTrophies includes 2 extra options that were not in Version 1.1. To keep the UI clean and clutter free the options for PS3 iTrophies have been moved to the Settings menu on the iPhone/iPod Touch. Simply select “Settings” on your home screen, scroll down to iTrophies. You’ll see options to Remember Details, Auto-Sign In and Disable Info Messages.

The app tells me the servers are down for maintenance but I can play online on my PS3?

The gaming servers and the servers used by iTrophies are seperate. It’s possible the servers used by iTrophies may go offline for maintenance even while the PSN game servers are still running. Maintenance can take up to 24hours, during this time you won’t be able to log in to iTrophies.

Still having a problem?

Feel free to email itrophiesatgooglemail.com or leave a question in the comments and I’ll get back to you soon.

I love the idea of the app. I plan on getting it soon. The only thing else I would love to see is Friends List and Trophy percentage on games. I don’t know if that’s being to picky?

    • 2. itrophies  |  April 24, 2009 at 8:20 am

Version 1.0 primarliy focused on the individual gamer. You’ll be happy to hear that Version 2.0 will add new features which are more community oriented, one of the features includes a friends list:) I’ll see what I can do about a percentage bar for each game individually.

  • 3. Emmanuel  |  April 24, 2009 at 7:55 am

I just downloaded the app, but it seems I can’t sign in, even though I have merge my PSN ID with the EU. But it won’t work on me signing in, is their any way to fix this issue?

    • 4. itrophies  |  April 24, 2009 at 8:22 am

      Hi Emmanuel,

Sorry to hear you’ve had a problem. I’ve emailed you personally as well as replying to your post here.

Please confirm that you’re signing in with you Email Address Sign In Id and NOT your Gamer Id – the hint text in the first field is a bit misleading and has already been changed in the upcoming first update.

no prob, some people seem be bothered about the price , it cheaper than loaf of bread , and only decent trophy app available, so hope more people realise that and buy it:)

good app and worth the price ^_^.
are you planning on adding more features ?

    • 11. itrophies  |  April 26, 2009 at 3:31 pm

      Hey Naurto,

Thanks for purchasing PS3 iTrophies – please rate and review the app on the iTunes App Store if you can.

You’ll be happy to know there are more features planned. I’m working on an update at the moment but after that I’ll start work on adding new features.

I’ll make a blog post soon about the forthcoming update, so keep an eye out for it😉

      Thanks for your support.

  • 12. James  |  April 26, 2009 at 9:05 pm

cool app😀. I will purchase it and rate it on itunes store (5 *!).

    • 13. itrophies  |  April 26, 2009 at 9:28 pm

      Great to hear, thank you😀

  • 14. Trapper  |  May 4, 2009 at 9:31 pm

Very awesome app, just need to be able to view any and all games Trophy’s would be nice, and so if I want to cheat a little see the “hidden” trophy’s would be good. Can’t wait for 2.0!

    • 15. itrophies  |  May 4, 2009 at 9:47 pm

      Thanks Trapper.

There’s a free Trophy app which lists all the trophies for all games – not sure when it was last updated so maybe not the newest but its an ok app as far as lists go, and since its free I didn’t see the point of recreating it, however if they ever start charging for it then I’ll certainly add that to mine so people don’t have to pay for 2 apps.

PS3 iTrophies is geared more towards being a PS3 companion, and thus more personal to the user, so you see the trophies for the games you’ve actually played. I’ve got the “reveal hidden trophies” as a todo for a future release😉

Thanks for buying and leaving a comment mate, don’t forget to rate and review on the app store😉

    Awesome dude !!

What a great app. Works great. Needs some pimping though. Sent you an email regarding some extra’s. Maybe you can look in to them.
Job well done. Hope you keep the app updated.

  • 17. MikeyL  |  May 10, 2009 at 6:25 pm

I would like to congratulate you for this great app. I just got a suggestion. How about letting users submit written guides for each trophy? Then you won’t have to write them all.

  • 18. Gareth  |  May 26, 2009 at 3:26 pm

Any plans to port this for BlackBerry devices? It would certainly open up your user base massively, and let poor chumps like me, who can’t go on O2 (or afford an unlocked iPhone!) to make use of what looks like an excellent app!

    • 19. itrophies  |  May 26, 2009 at 4:01 pm

Unfortunately no immediate plans for a Blackberry version, I’m assessing an Android version though at the moment if thats any help.

      Thanks for the interest!😉

  • 20. Frank  |  June 5, 2009 at 9:52 pm

Why is the auto log in removed with the new update ? Auto log in is a must.

  • 22. B. Wolf  |  June 12, 2009 at 11:23 am

I really like the app, but want to give you an idea for future versions. As I’ve already mentioned in the iTunes Review I’ve written, it would be very cool, if one could download the stats for the trophies, to access it even if offline. Everytime the program senses that you’re online, it makes an update of the trophy list and grants you access to your friendlist. Would be very nice !

Great app bro i just got it but i was wondering if messaging your friends and updating your info on the app could be added to the features.

  • 24. Jc  |  June 21, 2009 at 7:19 pm

Amazing app. Simple and nice to look at.

The only CON in my opinion, is simply the app icon. The colors are more themed towards the bitter rival ‘Microsoft X360’. Replace the green with a nice red, and the silver with a nice glossy black; presto!

    Other than that wonderful app.

I’d like to pitch a few ideas. I’m sure you’ve received several similar suggestions, but I’d like to know if the features I have in mind are doable.

    • 25. itrophies  |  June 21, 2009 at 8:19 pm

      Hi, thanks for the comment.

The app I con has been changes so there is no green. It’s not black and red either though. It’s intact blue, similar to the coulours found in the PSN Store.

Feel free to drop me an email regarding any suggestions you might have.

very nice app, just bought it a few mins ago.
everything works fine and looks great.
    very usefull your every PS3-user.

the only things i would love for the next version is the addition of the PSN profile picture, the personal comment and the country flag to the profile page .. in your freinds you can already see the pic and comment, but there also the country flag would be nice.

the other thing, that would be nice is to show the translated trophy names, depending on the country you’re from.
i.e. when i log-in to the PSN-website over http://at.playstation.com/psn/ (AT is my country), then i see the trophy-data automatically in german.
maybe this is also possible in iTrophy?

the 3rd idea i have, but i think it’s not possible at moment cause of PSN, would be the direct trophy comparison with friends, like you have it on the PS3.

all only ideas and no major issues!
    keep up the good work.

  • 28. Tim  |  July 19, 2009 at 8:58 pm

Thanks for the really great App! I made sure to give it 5 stars on the App Store and write a review.

Also, thanks for the quick reply to my email today. I should have checked the site before I emailed and I would have gotten my answer about the trophy leaderboard bug. Sorry about that.

Anyways, I though I would post an idea that I have on here. I think it would be sweet if there was an option to show/hide your completed trophies and/or games when using the Games tab. That would make it easier to get help for the trophies you need.

Just an idea though. Let me know if this would be possible at some point. Thanks again.

  • 29. Diggler  |  July 21, 2009 at 2:00 am

i tried to write a review on the app store twice, but it doesn’t appear.
    anyone with the same problem?
it also shows only one single review from april this year.
i’m in the austrian app store.

  • 30. Spencer Luxford  |  August 8, 2009 at 2:39 am

Fantastic app! I know it is not working at the moment, but that is no fault of your own! Keep up your great work of improving the app and come on Apple, sort it out and get these updates to us quicker!!!!
One question for you, it would be great to have an iTrophies type app for OS X so I could see this information on a Mac app on my desktop! Do you have any plans for this? I know there is something like that for Xbox 360, but as far as i know, nothing for the PS3!!!
I look forward to your reply. Thanks!!

  • 31. iTrophies owns  |  October 2, 2009 at 2:50 pm

I really like this app, a lot. Do you have plan making one for Xbox Gamertag?:)

  • 32. Alex Smith  |  November 17, 2009 at 12:33 pm

Love the app. Thank you for putting all the hard work in to get this app created and working so well.
If I may offer one other additional feature request (which I’m sure you’ve probably heard enough of already, but here goes:-) ). Would you consider adding in the facility to allow the user to change their current ‘mood’ in the PSN profile. It’s one of the things PSN added that I thought was a cute idea, but I’m so rarely on the PSN that it doesnt tend to reflect anything current. I know it’s only a bit of fun and may not be worth your time, but thought I’d mention it anyway. The ‘favourite game’ is also changable if you wanted to make the whole customisable profile modifyable from the iPhone/touch.

Thanks dude. Once again, great work

  • 33. Jon Faulkner  |  February 21, 2010 at 8:35 pm

Brilliant app, us it more than the actual PSN on the console as it is easier to use.

One suggestion that would make it perfect would be the ability to chat and leave messages via the PSN. Not sure how possible this is, if at all!

5 star app and a must by for all PS3 owners.

  • 34. Craig  |  February 23, 2010 at 6:47 pm

Hi I think you should create something on this app so you can send messages to youre freinds

  • 35. Anthony  |  February 24, 2010 at 9:19 am

G’day, awesome app! Very useful for every ps3 gamer! I’m just wondering how the trophy leader board works out as i’m level 7 75% with 290 trophies and I’m 5th. One of mate got the most 706 trophies comes 3rd but others who 1st and 2nd got less then a hundred. I should be 2nd?
